The best way to save your skin from prematurely ageing is to keep it in optimum condition, and make sure it’s as healthy as possible. Resist piling on the foundation
When the first lines and cracks appear on your face, it can be tempting to try and hide them with layers of thick foundation. However, this can actually make things worse. Covering your face with a thick layer of foundation can leave your skin with an unappealing texture. The best course of action is to embrace your laughter lines, rather than trying to conceal them. If you think this sounds unthinkable, then try using a small amount of a good concealer to take the edge off, and use a face moisturiser to lift and illuminate skin.
SPF – in everything!
The feel of sunshine on your face is one of the best things about summer, but harmful UV rays mean the sun is also the enemy of our skin. If we don’t get enough sun, our skin can look sallow and unhealthy, but go the other way, and you could end up with permanent damage. It’s healthy to spend time outside and get plenty of fresh air, but make sure you get into the habit of wearing makeup that will help protect you for the sun. Even in the winter, you should chose cosmetics that contain SPF protection. It’s never too late to reach for anti-ageing tools, and it’s never too soon either. It’s true that ageing can never be reversed, but it is possible to catch signs of ageing in their tracks, and take action before they get any worse. So, to keep your skin in tip-top condition for as long as possible, reach for those magic youth-enhancing lotions and potions as soon as you can.
